Mr. Dave Derr (1998-99)

Dave Derr started his coaching career at South Parkland youth league during the 1965-70 season.  He then moved to Maryland for six years and coached at the high school level.  He returned to the Lehigh area and coached for North Parkland during the 1976-80 season.  In 1980, Dave came to Northwestern Lehigh High School as assistant coach for Coach Pladus.  He coached until 1988, when his son Scott graduated from high school.  According to Dave, the highlight of his career was son Scott's winning record of 125-13-1.

Dave held the office of League President for Northwestern Wrestling program.  Dave, along with Coach Yost and Coach Erkinger, founded the Northwestern Wrestling Booster Club.  Dave gave his time as Director of the Centennial Tournament, which was held at Northwestern.  Dave is still active in the wrestling program as the Director of the Northwestern Junior High Christmas Wrestling Tournament and various midget tournaments.

Dave's immense love, participation, and knowledge for the sport of wrestling have helped make the Northwestern Lehigh Wrestling organization

Great name in the Lehigh Valley. Dave lives in the area with his wife Faye and son and daughter.
