Chris Wentz (1973-77) 98-105-112-119 lbs.

Chris wrestled four years on varsity and he was undefeated as a sophomore, a junior, and a senior in dual meets.  He was a four time District Champ and Regional Champ: 1973-74, 1974-75, 1975-76, and 1976-77.  As for

The State Tournament, Chris was a runner-up in 1974-75 and 1975-76 seasons.  In 1976-77, he took third, respectively.  Chris holds the State record for number of career pins with 76.  Chris was once the fifth most winning wrestler in the state with a record of 99-5-0.  He was elected to the High School All-American Team in 1976-77.  Chris attended Louisiana State University (LSU), where he wrestled varsity.  He took third place in the southeastern conference (SEC) Tournament in 1977-78 and he took first place in 1978-79.  Chris placed eighth in National Collegiate Championships (NVAA) in 1978-79.  He placed fifth in National Freestyle Tournament 1978-79.  Later he transferred to North Carolina State, where he again placed in the top eight in the National Championships.
