1984-1985

1984-85- What a season!  The Northwestern Lehigh wrestling squad, coached by Mr. Pladus, Mr. Tallota, and Mr. Cifonelli, posted a league record on 8-0, an overall record of 16-0, won the Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament, won their second consecutive League Championship (smashing the record for most points scored in the league tournament), won the District XI tournament, won the Southeast Regional Championship and finished the season as the top-ranked "AA" dual meet team in Pennsylvania according to Keystone wrestling Round-Up.  Individual highlights were Butch Padamonsky's sixth place finish at sates and first place finish in regionals-seniors Keith Nielsen and Phil Villard also won the Regional championships in addition to garnering District XI gold medals.  Underclassmen Dave Leiby and Scott Derr placed in the district and regional tournaments and qualified for states.  Ed Kelchner joined Derr, Tony Shalbert and Villard as Centennial League Champions!
