1982-1983

1982-83 happy days are here again!  Or so it would seem as the Tigers posted a fine dual meet record of 13-5, which included a 7-1 league season.  The Tiger' only league loss was to the League champions, the Bulldogs from Northern Lehigh.  Individual highlights for the Tigers included outstanding performances by three underclassmen: Jim Yost (22-10-1), Tim Kelchner (25-7-1), and Jason Grantham (23-7).  All three wrestlers placed in the District and Regional Tournaments, winning the right to represent Northwestern at the State championships in Hershey.  Other wrestlers who contributed greatly to the success of the Tigers included Tim Erkinger (25-3 and a League champ), Tim Simpson (18-8-1), and seniors Dan Getter (Outstanding Senior Wrestler), and Ed Keichel who posted records of 14-10-1 and 14-19-2, respectively.  All in all, the rebuilding program assumed by Coach Pladus seemed to be on the right track.
