Meet the 2003-2004 Northwestern Lehigh 

Wrestling Coaching Staff

Mike Williams (Head H.S. Coach)

Coach Williams is entering his third season as Northwestern Lehigh head coach and seventh season as a Tiger.  Coach Williams hopes to approve upon an impressive 9-6 record last season.  This is the first winning season for the Tigers since 1987.  With numbers growing both on the varsity and junior high teams, Coach Williams is  looking toward the future setting high goals and expectations for the Tigers.  Coach Williams was able to add a couple of "new" coaches to his staff, which he is very excited about..  Coach Williams is a graduate of William Allen High School, where he took 3rd in the Cities in 1979.  As a member of the junior high team, he won a state title.  Coach Williams continued his education at Lock Haven State College and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Liberal Arts.

Coach Williams is employed as a police officer for the city of Allentown.  He currently resides in New Tripoli and is married to his wife Mary.  Coach Williams has two children Brandon age (14), and Erin (16).  


Bryan Klass (Assistant H.S Coach)

Coach Klass enters his first season as a Tiger. Bryan is a 1997 graduate of Wilson Area High School where he had an outstanding career.  He was a four-time state qualifier and a two-time District and Regional Champion.  In 1997, Bryan became Wilson's sixth State Champion.  Coach Klass is currently Wilson's second winning wrestler with 131 career wins.  Bryan was inducted into Wilson Wrestling Hall of Fame in December 2001.  Coach Klass continued his wrestling career at Delaware Valley College where he excelled in both the classroom and in wrestling.  He was a three-time national qualifier and a two-time All-American.  Bryan was a three-time Academic All-American and was also named to Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities his junior and senior years.  Coach Klass graduated from Delaware Valley College in December of 2001 with a degree in Business Education.  He is coming to us from Palisades High School where he taught during the 2002-2003 school year.

Bryan teaches at Northwestern Lehigh High School.  He is a newlywed married to Krista.  Krista is finishing Pharmacy School and will graduate in May of 2004 with her Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree.  They currently reside in Wilson.


Scott Anders (Assistant H.S. Coach)

 

Coach Anders is entering his second season as an  assistant coach.  Scott is a 2002 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh were he compiled over eighty wins in his five years of wrestling.  As a senior, Scott compiled twenty-seven wins and was a Regional qualifier placing fourth in District.  He was a four-time Bloomsburg Invitational place winner and a 2002 team captain.  Coach Anders was the 2002 Wrestling MVP and Academic Honors nominee.  Scott is currently attending LCCC and majoring in Electrical Education.       

Scott is currently taking classes at Lehigh Carbon Community College and majoring in Electrical Education.  He resides in New Tripoli.    


Walter Frisch (Head J.H. Coach)

 

Coach Frisch is entering his first season as the Head Junior High coach.  He was an assistant Varsity and Junior High coach last season.  Coach Frisch is no stranger to Northwestern Lehigh.  He graduated from Northwestern in 1981 where he wrestled for nine years.  He was a member of the very impressive 1979 State Champion Wrestling Team.  Coach Frisch has spent many years coaching at the youth level.  He continued his education at Delaware Valley College where he graduated with a degree in Agronomy.  

Coach Frisch is employed at Sacred Heart Assisted Living.  He currently resides in New Tripoli and is married to his wife Kelly.  Coach Frisch has three children, Lucas (15), Jacqueline, and Sydney.


David Yenolevich (Assistant J.H. Coach)

Coach Yenolevich is entering his seventh season as a Tiger.  David has coached with the Northwestern Youth Wrestling team since 1996.  He is helping the youth as well as assisting the Junior High team.  Coach Yenolevich is a graduate of Saucon Valley High School where he was a member of the high school wrestling team.  

Dave is married to his wife Mary.  They have two children, Lauren and Evan.  They attend Northwestern Middle School.  They reside in New Tripoli.  


Randy Beitler (Strength Coach)

Coach Beitler is a 1972 graduate and varsity wrestler of Parkland High School.  he continued his education and wrestling at Lehigh Carbon Community College (1973-1974).  In 1974 Randy began coaching for North Parkland and continued as an assistant coach under Northwestern Wrestling Hall of Fame's Dave Derr at North Parkland until 1978.  Randy's passion for fitness lead him to open his own fitness club.  From 1989 to 1999 he owned and operated Phoenix Fitness in Allentown, PA were he was involved with the fitness training of many of the clients who came to the club.

Randy has a wife, Cindy, and two children, Maggie and Benjamin and reside in New Tripoli.  This past April, Randy and Cindy ran the 2003 Boston Marathon.
